Moment: hey, I'm sending you the few notes I have on the Gateverse base
Tate: when you get back, you can tell me more about Jada
Moment: you gonna post my notes ahead of this in the Original Comments?
Tate: wasn't planning on it
Moment: Jada is Zane's 18 year old half sister. She's played by Effy from Skins.
Moment: she's smarter than he is. she has a degree, but she's been in witness protection since about a year before Zane came to Eureka
Tate: in witness protection for what?
Moment: she's BRILLIANT, duh. she hacked something she shouldn't have and exposed a terrorist plot.
Tate: the terrorists been caught?
Moment: I'm so tempted to say that she had about the same thing happen to her that happened to Simon Campos. with the same group.
Tate: dude. bad.
Tate: and awesome.
Tate: how does she get to Eureka?
Moment: well, she sees herself walking that road with the "Welcome to Eureka" sign. that's her Flashforward, you see.
Moment: but Zane doesn't see her in his
Tate: obvs
Tate: is he getting married to Jo?
Moment: ...can we get away with moving the canon break to there?
Moment: there were plenty of mentions in the new Eureka of it being 2010.
Tate: you can't just smudge it a bit?
Moment: sadly no
Moment: I don't want to start smudging. that's not fair to me.
Tate: I know.
Moment: I can get them married. just not that quickly.
Moment: there's no way they're going to be at the wedding by then... right?
Tate: if you start writing them around the time Cassie shows up with the Trinket...wait, that's after the beginning of FlashForward. if you start writing them a month before FlashForward.
Tate: and you claim that that's where the last season ended, then you follow them straight through. you could get there relatively quickly.
Tate: what's Cassie's job there anyway?
Moment: she works where Tess worked. before Tess got promoted.
Moment: Level Five? Section Five? that place
Tate: where do you start your Eureka timeline?
Moment: September 2009
Moment: that's when Tess leaves for Australia
Moment: she and the sheriff can break up a little while later
Tate: you need stories for them
Tate: who's in charge of Section Five while Tess is gone but before Cassie gets there?
Moment: Alison?
Moment: She could be in charge of both kinda like Tess has been in charge of both?
Tate: fine. does she get some sort of memo saying that Cassie has been delayed?
Moment: of course
Tate: oh, wait... Cassie doesn't show up til December. She's not been delayed by the Looking Glass until November.
Tate: so what's she doing in September and October?
Moment: ...maybe she's not the first one assigned the job
Tate: so who are you going to put in there for a little while?
Tate: and how are you going to get rid of them?
Tate: let me look through the charrie lists and see who we've got.
Tate: yeah, no one
Tate: you either have to add another cross or add another OC
Moment: or I could put Cassie there, and have her go on vacation to visit her mums and detour through the Looking Glass.
Tate: and Alison could take over while she's gone
Tate: good plan
Moment: the thing is... I sort of want to put FlashForward Simon there. sometime later down the timeline.
Tate: you'll have to get rid of Cassie. and it has to be after FlashForward canon
Tate: deal with it when you get to it
Tate: So I gots a couple questions.
Moment: shoot
Tate: Susan. Could reverse engineer a ZPM. Yes?
Moment: ...I should have thought of this.
Moment: she so could
Moment: and should
Moment: because with a steady supply of power, Atlantis has an actual CHANCE of becoming a real colony
Tate: I thought you might say that
Tate: now, how improbable is Vala/Mira?
Moment: ...it's very pretty.
Moment: so not improbable
Moment: and Vala's never stuck me as 100% straight
Tate: so tell me how the Unit works?
Moment: er... I'm not entirely sure how the Unit works yet
Moment: or even who's in it, anymore. I think I'll work it out when we get to it
Tate: if we leave everything until we get to it, we will actually have to start at some point
~
Cece: where are we picking up? Gateverse or Buffyverse?
Tate: Gateverse. we'll deal with the Buffyverse eventually
Tate: it's amazing how quickly we got used to the word Gateverse.
Tate: so, you have any ideas? because I'm not Ideas Girl
Cece: that's okay, I am
Cece: for example, when Daniel first goes to stay on Atlantis, Vala can go with him
Cece: then they can find what I've been affectionately calling The Truth Room.
Cece: I've been told you were raised a Trekkie, did you ever read the tie-in novels about the Eugenics Wars?
Cece: what the truth room does is v. similar to the injections the bad guys gave Gary Seven in those books. except the truth room uses a low level telepathic field.
Cece: okay, the truth rooms makes you want to talk. if you're careful, you can avoid randomly saying every thought that comes to mind, but you have to be consciously thinking about not doing it. it will force you to answer any direct questions, eventually. and you can't lie, like, at all. even accidentally.
Cece: so it would be great for, say, helping amnesiacs remember things they've blocked, since if it's in their heads the truth room will bring it out.
Cece: or, y'know, for Vala to cleverly ask Daniel how longs he's been in love with Jack. Daniel is oblivious enough to not even notice until after he's answered, ne?
Cece: it would also be great for interrogating prisoners without having to beat them up or torture them
Tate: so, I mentioned to Clary that Susan could reverse engineer a ZPM.
Tate: I think she and Morgan should arrive on Atlantis while it's still on EARTH
Tate: because it'll need power to get back to Pegasus
Cece: this is a good point
Cece: when Stark descends in Eureka. Cassie will totes know what's going on, yeah?
Tate: prolly
Cece: so she could call in someone from the SGC
Cece: I want the end result of this to be that Stark ends up on SG-1. they need more civilians.
Cece: also, Vala/Stark = prettiness.
Tate: def. prettiness.
Cece: so, starting from the beginning.
Tate: we start in Feb 2009.
Tate: Jeannie is working in the City when Keller and McKay break up and McLenka begins.
Tate: but we need more story than that.
Cece: so we're starting off following Atlantis, then?
Tate: it's the top of the functional timeline
Tate: we also need 2 SG-1 adventures. the one wherein Aly joins, and one after she joins
Cece: do you know how long Jeannie is gonna be on Atlantis?
Tate: not a clue.
Tate: could be a week, could be until the City is ready to leave
Tate: depending on the stories in between
Cece: so they're trying to fix the City. there could be all sorts of horrible things hidden in there. but can't we leave this particular one as it is for now. I mean, we do have a couple of events.
Cece: the aliens the Roververse called the UAs. that's a loose end, right?
Tate: I just watched that one last night. I'm fairly sure it's a loose end
Cece: and whatever happened to Ford. they left it open-ended enough that if they'd wanted to or if we want to, creepy drug-addict Ford could return, ne?
Tate: I think you're right
Tate: that's two Atlantis loose ends.
Tate: I love loose ends. they mean less work for us in the long run
Cece: of course, before we can do anything with them at all, we have to get back to Pegasus
Tate: right
Tate: okay, so Feb. is good enough for now. March, April, and May.
Cece: Susan and Morgan should arrive in one of those
Tate: let's say April. give us a March adventure with just our guys
Cece: I think they should sink the City. so no one notices it floating around out in the ocean there
Tate: that's sense-making
Tate: not really plot, but sense-making.
Cece: um, what if they landed on something or... wait. what if they sink and run into a giant squid. that then wraps itself around the City (it's a REALLY big giant squid), and they don't have the power to surface while it's hanging on, that's how heavy it is
Cece: and the first time they attempt to get it to let go, it inks the shield
Cece: Jeannie figures out how to get rid of it before the shield fails.
Cece: so then in April, Susan and Morgan arrive
Cece: the City recognizes lots of transporters and teleporters, but it doesn't recognize theirs. which makes sense since they're from the Whoniverse. so it goes into lockdown
Cece: they have to convince the City that they aren't invaders
Tate: I know they appear somewhere near Sheppard, but I don't know anything else about it
Cece: I think they should appear in the room Shep and Teyla spar in. while they're sparring.
Cece: that'll be fun, right?
Tate: I think we can just skip May altogether
Tate: in June, Susan can finish reverse engineering that ZPM she's been working on and open up new parts of the City
Cece: Jeannie could leave at the end of that
Cece: I think the one where Daniel and Vala come to Atlantis should be right before that
Cece: that's the one where they find the Truth Room, btw
Tate: so Daniel and Vala and the Truth room, then the ZPM and Jeannie's departure
Tate: then the City goes back to Pegasus with Jack and Daniel in charge
Tate: let's do the SG-1 stories in this timeframe
Cece: the one where Aly joins, then?
Cece: I think they should go to a planet that's been colonized by former Goa'uld hosts. you know, to check up on them.
Tate: why is there such a place?
Cece: because the hosts the Tok'ra liberate probably won't be able to integrate into the populations of the people who were subjugated by the Goa'uld. duh.
Tate: I originally wanted Vala to be with the Ba'al host from Continuum
Cece: they've been off screen long enough
Cece: She can work that in as backstory. then they can end it in this story. obvs it's not really working for them
Tate: now that Aly's joined, they should have another adventure before Hailey joins
Tate: okay, they go to a planet called Dreamworld. the planet is maintained by the consciousness of the people who live there. they sleep in shifts, because their minds create the world. so when they sleep, everything they've created vanishes.
Tate: they don't dream, because dreams are created by the subconscious and cannot be controlled. but our guys dream something horrible into existance. and then have to destroy it before it destroys the Dreamlanders.
Cece: because THIS was my initial response to that idea: "Daniel should dream Sha're and have her cease to exist when they go through the gate because the dreamland energy is all that sustains her"
Tate: but I'll let you get away with that idea
Cece: so, after Dreamland, the adventure where Hailey joins
Cece: I know we're gonna need replicators at some point for the Cybermen AltYvonne brings, right?
Cece: so let's make some new ones. we already got rid of the Asgard galaxy replicators, and the humanform replicators... I think we should have plantform replicators
Cece: so there's this race of dryads, I'll tell you about them later. and they create replicators for some reason.
Tate: ...I assume you actually have a story about this?
Cece: I have a tiny little timeline of dryad/plantform stories
Cece: so they go to this planet where the entire village is surrounded by a really high wall, which is being overgrown by a gial metal vine, like ivy or something. it grows over the exit and is spreading toward the gate, growing by absorbing metal. obvs that would be bad, as it would absorb the gate. it can also absorb people, iron in the blood y'know, so we don't want that. and bullets and staff weapon blasts won't stop it, they just make it bigger. so we figure out how to get past it and stall it's progress toward the gate. and relocate the remaining villagers.
Tate: then there's Twap.
Tate: seriously, we have to find a name for it
Cece: Why? Twap is almost catchy. especially when saying things like "Twap water".
Cece: it could catch on
Cece: I did have this idea about Twap water, but I don't want to skip ahead on the timeline. remind me after I give you the evil dryads story
Tate: is that the next one?
Cece: yup
Cece: the dryads are people who are born from their trees. they want to colonize other worlds. which would be fine, if there weren't people on the worlds they decide to colonize. see, they plan their trees, which grow and propagate really, really fast and choke out all other life. they then enslave any people who survived this terraforming, and if they misbehave they feed them to the trees. obvs when our guys end up on the first dryad planet, they don't know this. the dryads offer them a sapling as a gift of "good faith". all tests show no danger. but residual touch telepathy from the Twap water Aly had reveals the plot before the saplin makes it to Earth.
Cece: okay, so, next story. I think Twap water does something other than grant telepathy. because that's silly.
Cece: I think the telepathy is a side-effect of something else. it mimics the ATA gene. drinking it once a day for a week is also the cure for the 48%, btw.
Tate: I love you for remembering the 48%
Cece: so while Aly is using the Twap water to get the gene therapy to take
Cece: <3 of course I remembered the 48%. Zelenka is part of the 48%
Cece: the boost from the Twap water makes her show up on the OZ sensors. remember how they were doing the Restoration that this point?
Cece: well, they notice Aly and send a travel storm for her, thinking she's one of theirs. obvs the rest of SG-1 is nearby and is also kidnapped
Cece: after this story, Jonas should rejoin SG-1. after a mission to his planet for something, bc otherwise it looks silly and contrieved
Tate: kay. you'll want a filler story here, I think. if they're all on the arc...
Cece: got anything?
Tate: cave-gliders. their settlements are in the walls of a cliff and the bottom of a valley. and the gate is at the top. so the ones who are licensed to carry passengers will have the bring SG-1 down on their gliders
Cece: this could be fun
Cece: next we'll have the story where Neal and Mozzie end up in the SGC. SG-1 will be the ones coming back from a mission in that one. the mission itself is immaterial.
Cece: then after Vala leaves another story.
Tate: more dryad-arc?
Cece: theres a planet controlled by the dryads. the indigidous population is enslaved, and rebels are fed to the trees.
Cece: so SG-1 tries to talk to them, the grove they'd had contact with before was a war with this one. so they're thrown in with the treefood slaves and caught up in a riot to escape.
Tate: next?
Cece: you can has
Tate: okay, they go to a planet and while they're in the village a plantform replicator absorbs the gate. so they have to stay until a ship is nearby
Cece: Carter's ship?
Tate: yes please
Tate: and obvs the ship arrives just in time, because the plant is growing and about to finish absorbing the planet
Tate: so when they get onboard Carter's ship and this story is ending, that's when Janet descends
Tate: so during the next one, while Sam'n'Janet are off having their Buffyverse adventure, SG-1 can cover for them
Cece: and then SG-1 is delivered to the SGC and the NQM to Area 51. and during this is when Vala announces her pregnancy and Daniel rushes to go see her and is sent back.
Cece: then the FlashForwards.
Tate: I THINK the FlashForward could travel through the gate, if it were an outgoing wormhole
Tate: so SG-1 is about to go to Dreamworld. the FlashForward knocks all the Dreamworlders out. thus making Dreamworld cease to exist.
Cece: they realize this before going through, right?
Tate: it's random and pointless genocide, not kill off all the main cast
Cece: so next, there's a diplomatic incident
Tate: the kind of wine-induced coming-onto-the-village-heads-daughter diplomatic incident in most fanfic?
Cece: oh yes. this incident make the village council not listen to SG-1 when they try to warn them not to offer a dryad sapling in trade
Tate: can it be Hailey's diplomatic incident?
Cece: yes it can
-
Cece: I have an idea for a minor sort-of filler story
Cece: but we need a plot story
Cece: since your arc is done, I'll let you have it if you want
Tate: ooh, that's a mistake on your part, trust me
Tate: so Carter's ship, after it left after the Cross-Dimensional Mothers Daughter Road Trip, went by where Dreamworld used to be, to observe the energy that made Dreamworld possible and to collect the gate for use elsewhere. they bring back readings and video.
Tate: video of plantform replicators that had devoured the planet that used to be there and are now producing the Dreamworld energy. and there are faces growing in the vines of the plantforms.
Tate: Dreamworlder faces. so Carter brings SG-1 there, and by the time they get there a new Dreamworld is in place. that's what the plantforms are programmed to do
Tate: destroy worlds entirely and replace them with perfect Dreamworlds for the dryads. there are dryad treeships on the way, since the gate was meant to have been destroyed as well
Tate: but the people on that planet had had a ship and tried to escape, bringing the gate with them. they didn't make it far enough to escape completely, which was why Dreamworld had existed and the gate was okay.
Tate: the plantform has created the new Dreamworld and taken the forms of the Dreamworlders to preserve their memory. because that's what people want, to be remembered after they die.
Cece: the plantform is evolving
Tate: and right now, this particular one is v. childlike, but it's not a bad guy.
Tate: it lets them take the gate and since it's not programmed to devour any more than it already has, it's not a threat
Tate: so they can leave it without having to destroy it.
Tate: tell me about your sort-of filler story
Cece: so Hailey's diplomatic incident girlfriend is about to be married off. she manages to send a message to Hailey.
Cece: I've decided that even if it caused a diplomatic incident, the villageleaders daughter also had a thing for Hailey and they acted on it again when they were sober.
Cece: but Hailey is no longer allowed back on the planet because of it.
Cece: so the rest of SG-1 goes and manages to retrieve the girl and bring her back to Earth and give her asylum
Cece: at the end she goes home with Hailey
Tate: but she's gone before Lenna gets sick?
Cece: I think she actually disappears at the end of the next one
Cece: I haven't decided whether she's kidnapped or if she's really evil
Tate: ...I get the feeling it's going to be the second one
Tate: so, do you have a story for right before the girl disappears?
Cece: muted world
Cece: on this planet, you hear as if you'd been standing next to a really loud speaker and now it's quiet, and you see as if everything's lit with soap-opera lighting, etc.
Cece: this is due to an energy field emitted by a device. the locals don't live within the field because the energy can cause permanent damage to the sense if exposed for too long
Cece: the field is there to protect something. I haven't decided what.
Tate: do you know who created the device?
Cece: nope
Cece: not the dryads
Tate: ...of course not. because having only ONE arc villian is too little.
Tate: two. I can count. Dryads and Cyberman replicators.
Cece: I'd almost forgotten about them. how long until we actually need them?
Tate: well, the next adventure is the one where Friday, Mira, Clarence, and AltYvonne bring the Cybermen through. and Mira is being held in the SGC until they can figure out what to do with her
Cece: so next we should see the Cybermen on the planet they landed on after their escape
Cece: okay, so another SG team comes back after having stumbled into a Cyberman base on a nearby world. SG-1 bring Mira with them because she has knowledge about the Cybermen than they don't
Cece: they manage to shut down the base, after learning that they'd set up bases on three other worlds. so someone is going to have to check the DHD memory to find them.
Cece: and Mira joins SG-1 at the end
Tate: then a random adventure with Mira in it
-
Min: okay, so, you remember that story you wrote for Tin Man a while back and never posted? the one I said you should include part of as backstory?
Min: one of the drafts included Glitch building an unknown device, ne?
Tate: ...I'd forgotten about that draft
Tate: but yes, you're right
Min: I think you should include the whole story. that draft, obvs
Min: then, when the device is finished, absolutely no one in the OZ knows what it does.
Min: so a delegation from the OZ comes to invite a group of scientists to examine it.
Tate: SG-1 goes to escort the scientists?
Min: obvs. they dont' even HAVE a scientist anymore. they have civilians, but no scientist.
Tate: mas
Cece: McLenka should go to examine the device
Cece: the Atlantis story for that month can be while they're in absentia
Tate: okay, so the next month is when Vala gives birth. but that's not a story.
Tate: so, what next for them?
Cece: I have a story. about the combination of the Cybermen and the plantform replicators.
Cece: but then I think we should go back and fill in other groups stories
Cece: because the whole thing needs to have cohesion
Cece: so SG-1 gates to one of the Cyberbase planets. the three they learned about on the first Cyberbase planet?
Cece: to destroy the Cyberbase, that's what they go for. while they're trying to do that, a dryad group comes through the seed the planet with a new plantform.
Cece: the dryad group is captured along with SG-1 and they have to work together to escape. because the plantform is spreading really quickly due to absorbing the Cybermen
Cece: it's also absorbed some of their programming. which is terrifying, but not as terrifying as it could be, because the plantform groups are all separate. so it only affects this one particular group
Tate: that's good
Tate: so, with Atlantis. I think the last thing to happen was the return to Pegasus with Jack and Daniel in charge
Min: how long until we can make Jack/Daniel established?
Min: well, if we do it immediately then it's rushed and improbably
Cece: HA
Cece: anyway, the return to Pegasus story will include Teyla going back to her people on the mainland, and Morgan taking her place on Sheppards team.
Cece: one more story before Daniel runs back to Earth because Vala's prego
Tate: guess that means we HAVE to establish Jack/Daniel now.
Tate: because I always thought it was already established during the story
Min: or it could BECOME established in that story
Min: Vala is hormonal and preggers. tell me she WOULDN'T out Daniel to Jack to try to get him to leave. especially since I somehow doubt her telling him to go away would WORK.
Cece: I love that idea.
Cece: but we still need one more story first
Cece: preferably a story about SGA-1 going offworld
Cece: but not an arc-starting story
Min: should it have Wraith?
Tate: nah
Tate: it should have something the Ancients built
Tate: that clearly malfuctions in a horrible way
Tate: when I get back, remind me to tell you about Susan and her Tardis, kay
-
Min: where were we?
Cece: one story about an SGA-1 coming across an Ancient device on an offworld mission, then the one where Daniel is away due to Vala being preggers at the end of which we get Jack/Daniel
Cece: so, any ideas about this Ancient device?
Min: erm... can't we just leave it at "Ancient device"?
Min: we can come up with something later
Min: Ancient device is enough for timelining and story separation
Min: which is all we need to do for now
Cece: oh, so I had this thought. well these couple vaguely related thoughts
Cece: well, Zoe's going to Harvard pre-med. she's a Eureka kid. how long do you suppose it would take her to finish a med degree?
Min: if you have an idea, you should do the research on it
Min: um... 4 years undergrad, MCAT, then to get an MD it's supposed to be 4 years average, USMILE. then a 1-year internship. then they can apply for residency or a fellowship.
Min: so that's 8 years for non-Eureka, non-prodigy people.
Cece: since Zoe is Eureka.
Cece: she could probably finish it in about half that. the actual classes part. but then she'd need an internship.
Min: what is your goal here?
Cece: to eventually have her replace Remy when I send her off to the Tok'ra.
Cece: which was my second idea. I figure if the Tok'ra can cure cancer, they can cure Huntington's, ne?
Min: yes, I imagine they could
Cece: well, Remy will have SGC clearance by the point we'll need this happen, because she and Chase are with House during little Lenna's illness
Cece: and she's with Hailey, who's SG-1 and therefore has a bit of sway
Cece: so what I need is for her to hang on for a few more years
Min: Zoe could get her internship there, couldn't she?
Min: that way it would make sense for her to take Remy's place
Min: thing is...you really think Remy can hold on that long? four years for Zoe's classes and another year of internship?
Min: without her symptoms destroying her career? really?
Cece: well...maybe "we" found some new drug offworld. not a cure, just one that slows it down temporarily
Cece: Hailey could get her on that, right?
Min: probably
Cece: by the time that wears off, they'll have Zoe around. and then Tok'ra.
Cece: actually, if Eureka could come up with some sort of "learning absorption accelerator"
Min: you mean a smart pill
Cece: we could shave some more time off.
Min: not that that in any way helps us, as that is nowhere near our timeline right now
Min: oh, so Clary said she talked to Tessa-san yesterday and they decided that Daniel needs to grow his hair out again
Cece: um, yes
Min: I think Aly should mention it first, in the one where she joins
Min: because she saw him when she was a kid too.
Min: so she could just casually mention that it looked better long
Min: and then over the next few stories, have random people also casually mention it
Min: until Daniel just agrees with them and lets it grow
Cece: itty bitty theme is cute
Cece: will Dreamworld Sha're mention it?
Min: YES
Cece: okay, so, where are we actually supposed to be?
Min: Jack/Daniel just started because Vala's pregnancy hormones make her even more of a busybody than usual.
Min: well, the timeline says that there's supposed to be an Atlantis story in Daniel's absense, but I don't think that's necessary.
Min: actually, I think it works better without one
Cece: I think you're right
Cece: so we're in Sept. this is when Zoe starts her first year of school. gotta keep that in mind.
Cece: we need two Atlantis stories before Susan regenerates
Min: and then we need to get our hands on Tatey-chan and find out what she thought of about Susan's regeneration
Cece: what did we do with that clone of Beckett?
Min: I think he went back to wandering the Pegasus galaxy when we returned Atlantis
Cece: the Wraith are still an issue, right?
Min: yeah. until we deal with them. but they're weakened, and their numbers are smaller.
Cece: so we should probably have SGA-1 encounter them in at least one of these adventures
Min: I think that would be fair, yeah
Min: grr, we really, really need to play catch-up before we can do these
Cece: you noticed that too, huh?
Cece: okay, so what do we NOT have to play catch-up for?
Min: Objects stories, or Eureka
-
Min: where should we start?
Cece: Eureka. my ideas for Objects stories require research, and my search bars and being difficult today
Min: so, the one where Cassie takes over Section 5. Tess has just left but she and the Sheriff are still together. Zoe's already at school, so's Lucas.
Cece: so, Cassie takes over Section 5. obvs something goes wrong
Cece: have you heard of the living screen?
Cece: here's the homepage:
www.biokino.net/about.htmlMin: that's... kind of horrifying
Min: if the screen can live, die, and interact... what's to stop it from evolving?
Cece: you have to look through a projector. individually. and it's meant to frighten you which is why they show horror flicks.
Cece: so if it evolved and went parasitic, it could enter through the eye.
Min: obvs this doesn't happen at EVERY living screen show
Cece: well no. I imagine it has to do with radiation from something at GD
Min: how does the living screen get there?
Cece: it's a hobby
Cece: for one of the scientists
Cece: who is obviously the first to go
Min: and it must be something curable, with radiation or something. or maybe it just has a short lifespan.
Min: cos I think Cassie should get it, too
Cece: "I figured, I'm in Eureka, not the SGC, there won't be any bodystealing aliens here, but NO..."
Min: oh! I know
Min: the radiation from other scientists research in Section 5 is the only thing that's keeping the critters in control. they return to being insentient inernt matter without it.
Min: they can't actually be removed, but so long as they can avoid that radiation, they'll be fine
Cece: this means we can use the critters again later if we need to
Min: exactly
Min: now, what do the critters WANT
Cece: well, we're exploiting THEM for our entertainment
Cece: maybe they're just returning the favour
Min: they're... taking human bodies for joyrides
Cece: so, one more story, then the one after they get their FFs. I assume at that point they'll be shutting down a lot of things at GD just to make sure it wasn't their fault.
Cece: those things will come back on after they're all inspected
Min: oh, and that's where Tess and the Sheriff break up. because she'll see herself marrying some australian guy.
Cece: that way we can pave the way for him to get with Alison
Min: xactly
Min: but you said there's one more story before this?
Cece: and we have no excuses for other crosses. these are pretty much pure Eureka stories.
Min: I bet we could get other crosses. what's on that base?
Cece:two Stargates, Tin Man, House, White Collar, The Lost Room, FlashForward
Cece: that's... actually v. small in comparison to the Whoniverse base
Cece: I feel like there should be more on this base
Min: I feel like there are already too many
Min: what's stopping an Objects story from taking place in Eureka before the story that forms the Unit?
Cece: nothing that I can think of
Min: erm, was there a reason we never crossed Warehouse 13 into this base?
Cece: it might have something to do with the new series. and how it's still a running show
Min: Eureka's still going. so it Sanctuary. and Castle.
Min: and House
Min: and White Collar
Cece: point taken
Cece: so, let's pretend for a couple minutes that we were going to cross W13 in. where would we break canon?
Min: sometime this season.
Min: after the first episode, but before the Claudia/Fargo thing. cute as it was.
Cece: I think we could leave it through Age Before Beauty.
Cece: that leaves us right before the crossover, but without a definitive date. so start timelining at the same time we start Eureka. or, y'know, just whenever we need it like we've been doing with House
Min: I think Claudia should join the Unit
Min: also, she and Josh are so Zane and Jada's cousins.
Min: ...but we're still short a Eureka story
Cece: would purple goo work on an Object?
Min: I'm gonna say no
Cece: lemme take a peek at some of science mags and see if I can scare up any "might go wrong" experiments
Cece: oh!
Cece: you remember those cool VR goggles they used to play fake baseball?
Cece: assume there's an upgrade
Cece: and it malfunctions
Min: causing?
Cece: limited blindness
Min: ...wtf does that mean?
Cece: well, without the glasses on, blind
Cece: with the glasses on, you can see, but you can also see whatever's being projected into the VR
Cece: and there's no way to tell the difference
Min: next is the FFs one. where everything gets inspected.
Cece: and Tess and the Sheriff break up
Min: they should bring in an outside inspector
Cece: ...from where?
Min: I guess the Warehouse would have clearance. you could have an exchange.
Min: one from the Warehouse inspects GD, one from GD inspects the Warehouse. objective eyes and all that
Cece: the only person who could possibly understand what's going on at GD is Claudia. or maybe Mrs. Frederics.
Min: Claudia's only a couple years older than Zoe.
Min: she will so make the Sheriff miss his daughter
Cece: mm. she should totes stay with him, since she'll need a place to stay while she's in town
Cece: who goes to inspect the Warehouse?
Min: Fargo and Larry.
Cece: so Fargo and Larry are traded for Claudia and?
Min: I guess Leena could go with her. as a bonding thing. and to assist her..
Cece: out of curiousity, female HG Wells could totes blend in in Eureka, couldn't she?
Min: oh yes
Min: ...if Claudia and Zane are cousins, why doesn't she stay with him?
Cece: Jo is moving in with him.
Cece: he asked her to at the beginning of the limited blindness story. she agreed at the end of that one.
Min: so, this next story is the one where Cassie leaves to visit her mums. and the Road Trip.
Min: what goes on in Eureka in her absence?
Cece: HG Wells should show up and move in
Min: she's going by Helena, ne?
Cece: she gets a job at GD and gives them her antigrav metal vest thing
Cece: and whoever tries it is allergic to the metal
Min: who tries it?
Cece: it's wrong of me to say Fargo, ne?
Min: pick someone else
Cece: Julia
Min: ....is there some reason you've chose Fargo as the focus of the "do traumatic things to" campaign?
