Moment: for some reason, I always think that Susan is blond when she gets fobwatched
Moment: but she's clearly NOT as she regenerates into Morena Baccarin
Moment: well, after seeing that looking like Adria freaks everyone out, within 15 hours of her regeneration, Susan could change who she looks like
Moment: we know the girls can do that, because Romana did it back in the Classic
Moment: yes?
Min: I don't see why not
Min: but you need to come up with an actress
Moment: I like Carey Mulligan
Min: Sally Sparrow
Moment: I know
Moment: but with short enough hair it's harder to notice
Moment: anyway, Sally's on the other base
Min: media.wwd.com/images/processed/Glossies/Scoop/2008/11/belles-new/portrait/02-tout/belles07.jpg
Moment: however, the UAs? there was the speculated possibility that they were the Asurans
Min: if the Alterans thought that the Asurans had been destroyed, why would they have a sample of the nanobots?
Moment: if the UAs aren't the Asurans, then that's a big bad
Moment: and I can't get a colony if there's a big bad
Min: oh?
Moment: my plan to get the colony was that after the Wraith were dealt with there's no reason to stay in Pegasus, but rather than shut down they become a colony of earth. a diplomatic experiment.
Moment: and then sometime after that I'd have the Stargate Programme declassified
Min: that makes sense
Min: no UAs
Moment: but evil!Ford is still game, ne?
Min: think so
Moment: I actually had a couple ideas for SG-1
Moment: okay, you remember Cece's muted planet?
Min: um...energy field with not-good side effects protecting something. aliens unknown.
Moment: so that's not the only thing these aliens did. they're good with energy fields
Moment: so there's device on this planet that emits an "amazing and incapacitating" burst of bliss every half an hour. the inhabitants have built their society around it and have never used the gate before.
Moment: now that they know how it works, they want to "spread the bliss" by leaving the gave active through one of the bursts. SG-1 realizes that this could be bad and tries to talk them out of it, but are detained.
Moment: to minimize the damage, Aly gives them the address of a dryad world.
Moment: this is a two part episode and that's about where part one ends
Moment: so the dryads trace the bliss signal back and, assuming it was an attack, launch a counter attack.
Min: dozens of dryads with saplings stream through the gate?
Moment: exactly
Moment: but the bliss signal disturbs them. the trees grow but don't form dryads. they can't overwhelm the population.
Moment: so they try to destroy the bliss device. they can't.
Moment: oh, they manage to damage it. it still hurts them, but it no longer does anything for the natives.
Moment: and since it doesn't work they let SG-1 take it, with the promise that if they fix it they bring it back
Min: any idea who the people who built these things are?
Moment: not yet
Moment: but that June is when Lenna gets sick and is cured by House.
Moment: there need to be an SG-1 story there?
Min: well, maybe not during that story. but during that month
Min: after Remy/Hailey has started
Moment: sense making. I have another energy-field aliens story, but it should wait a bit
Min: you remember the shapeshifter people with the funny looking faces?
Moment: vaguelly
Moment: didn't they bury the gate?
Min: what if dryad treeships arrived on that planet?
Moment: can't the shapeshifters just poof them out of existance?
Min: doesn't work
Moment: so they'd...unbury the gate and come to the SGC for help, somehow managing to avoid the iris
Min: yup
Min: because the shapeshifters are safe from the dryads but that human population they've been protecting aren't.
Min: and the treeships grove have already enslaved them
Moment: so SG-1 can go and free them
Moment: do they relocate them or do they destroy the dryads?
Min: well, they've been working on that bliss device, if it's still working to hurt the dryads maybe whatever it does to stop them reproducing also lets the shapeshifters poofing finally work
Moment: they bury the gate again?
Min: dunno
Min: maybe, maybe not
Min: depending on if you need them for other stories
~
Cece: so the next story is the one where Bill Lee is sick
Cece: I've actually been thinking about this
Cece: what we seem to have done is create the new bads with different mythology. we went greek with the dryads
Min: yeah...?
Cece: so I had this idea a while ago, and I'd been calling this people "the melting people"
Cece: they can maintain a solid form for a while, but they prefer to be melted, all of them together in lakes and ponds
Min: like Odo's people
Cece: see, I knew you were gonna say that
Cece: no
Cece: they're not shapeshifters
Cece: they only have the one solid form, and it's human looking
Cece: they have trouble with spoken language, since they usually live as lakes and aren't entirely separate entities
Cece: SG-1 took a sample of the water on this planet, not knowing that the "melting people" were the water
Cece: and Bill Lee tasted a sample of it. which I know sounds really dumb, but surely She can write it so it doesn't sound that way
Cece: that obvs makes him sick, since the water is a person
Cece: it turns into a person in the lab
Cece: the melting people are peaceful when they live in their lakes, but if they're separated for long enough they go sort of mad
Cece: so they find a body of water to melt into and become water spirits. the melting people are Naiads.
Cece: there are Naiads all over the universe, due to travellers taking water from Naiad planets
Min: know what idea that gives me?
Cece: what?
Min: you remember Hailey's ex? the one who disappeared?
Min: could she have been a Naiad?
Min: and she disappeared because she needed to find a body of water to melt into
Min: on the planet they gave her asylum from, she'd melt daily in a nearby pond and nobody knew.
Min: she wasn't the village heads daughter, exactly
Cece: like Morgana is to Uther
Min: is okay?
Cece: I like it
Cece: but next story should be the one Clary mentioned to you, about the energy field aliens
Min: we have no deets, but okay
Cece: well, we have one deet
Cece: it's the one in which Stark joins SG-1
Min: after that, I think they should find Hailey's ex
Cece: how?
Min: well, she melted into a nearby body of water
Min: maybe there's a weird energy reading when she melts and unmelts. or maybe animals or people are disappearing.
Cece: and SG-1 would go see about this why?
Min: because it's right in their back yard, as it were
Min: this won't be awkward for Hailey at all...
Cece: what do they do with the girl once they find her?
Min: send her to the Naiad planet?
Cece: can we get back to the Objects stories now?
Cece: I thought that was what we were supposed to be doing anyway
Min: okay, so there's this Object
Min: Pete and Myka track it down thinking it's an artifact, but purple goo doesn't stop it working
Cece: then Peter, Neal, and Joe show up
Min: and Claudia totes wants to help them track down other Objects that have been filed away in the Warehouse
Cece: will they let her?
Min: why not?
Min: she can search the Warehouse in her spare time and call them if she finds anything
Min: toss a couple throwaway lines into a couple upcoming Objects stories about how they're closer because of that box of Objects Claudia sent them
Cece: and that leave room to get Claudia on the Unit later
~
Min: well, in Eureka, Cassie is returning. end of 2009
Cece: kay, that's a good place to pick up. hey, when does that Warehouse/Objects story take place?
Min: say October.
Min: that gives us room for one Objects story before it, and puts both the Warehouse stories in the same month
Cece: let's take this logically, then, what's the Objects story before it?
Min: I think they should run into Jada
Cece: any idea which Object they're after when they run into her?
Min: nope
Min: I'm more interested in what's going on with her
Cece: she's escaping from that terrorist group and trying to go into hiding
Min: can she join them?
Cece: no
Cece: cos she needs to go to Eureka eventually and if she's on the Unit...
Min: right
Min: but she does need her witness protection changed, since obvs the terrorist group knows who she is
Min: they can use the Room to drop her off somewhere so the Org can't find her
Min: she'll have to changer her name
Cece: again
Cece: if she was in witness protection, she's already going by an alias
Min: so we need two names for her
Cece: I'm tempted to say she was going by Tabitha when they caught up with her
Min: and now?
Cece: Felicity
Min: she goes back to using her real name when she gets to Eureka?
Cece: only because Zane calls her by it
Cece: she does make an attempt at getting people to call her by her witness protection name
Min: like that'll work
Cece: until the evil organization is neutralized, she's not safe on Earth, not even in Eureka
Cece: but I'll bet Atlantis could use her
Min: she can't go until the colony anyway
Cece: so the Objects story relocates her... was she using the Object to help her escape
Min: that's sense-making
Min: then the next Objects story is the one with the Warehouse.
Min: we need Objects stories for November and December
Min: then the Objects and Eureka storylines will be at the same point
Cece: and then they'll meet once for the formation of the Unit

Slashy (12:48 AM): ...is stardustAstrid swapped bases, would she Ascend?
Slashy (12:48 AM): *if
Tessa-san (12:48 AM): yes
Slashy (1:06 AM): ~sigh~ the only other scene I have fully written out hasn't even made it's way into my timeline yet. go me and not bothering to do simple research.
Slashy (1:08 AM): it's for the White Collar/The Lost Room plotline on the gateverse base. and it's really just an excuse for porn. BUT it takes place on Peter's birthday, and I don't know whether we know when that is and can never be bothered to try to find out. and until I do I can't put it on my timeline. and until it's on my timeline I can't DO anything with it. which means it is useless porn sitting in my desk. ~sulk~
Tessa-san (1:11 AM): ...is there an official date for it?
Slashy (1:11 AM): I don't even know
Tessa-san (1:11 AM): I can't find it.
Tessa-san (1:12 AM): Want Tim's instead?
Slashy (1:12 AM): I just want to know where to put this in my timeline.
Tessa-san (1:12 AM): June 12 is Time DeKay's birthday
Slashy (1:13 AM): June.
Slashy (1:14 AM): June is the month BEFORE the Key migrates. That means I need an actual proper White Collar plot to put this into.
Slashy (1:15 AM): which means I just need to retroactively add a White Collar plot before the migration of the Key. which makes sense chronologically anyway.
~
Slashy (1:53 AM): ...I wish I thought things all the way through
Slashy (1:54 AM): so I gave Madison cancer specifically so I could get Rodney to meet House and Wilson. That accomplished, what do I do with this plotline?
Tessa-san (1:54 AM): Ignore it?
Slashy (1:54 AM): I can't ignore it, it's important
Slashy (1:55 AM): once I get Atlantis the colony, I was hoping to move Jeannie and family there
Slashy (1:55 AM): which means I need to work out what happened to Madison
Slashy (1:56 AM): the only thing I can think of is "give her a Tok'ra", but I don't want to but I also can't think of a decent reason not to
Slashy (1:56 AM): which annoys me
Tessa-san (1:56 AM): all the tok'ra have hosts already?
Slashy (1:57 AM): I can't do that, because there needs to be a hostless Tok'ra later for Remy, but not for a couple years so Zoe can finish medical school and take her place
Tessa-san (1:58 AM): maybe that Tok'ra's host dies or gets too old in the following couple years?
Slashy (1:58 AM): the Host Exchange Programme can't afford a stall like that.
Slashy (1:58 AM): that's what I've been calling the programme that provides the Tok'ra with hosts
Slashy (1:59 AM): it doesn't really have anything to do with anything, I just like calling it that
Slashy (2:00 AM): but if we stop sending them hosts for a while, negotiations later could go weird in all sorts of bad ways. it's safer and easier to just keep it a steady stream of terminally ill people heading toward the Tok'ra world
Tessa-san (2:00 AM): I guess I just don't get why that needs to happen. There are only so many Tok'ra, aren't there?
Tessa-san (2:00 AM): I mean, their queen died. They can't make more.
Tessa-san (2:01 AM): Wouldn't the majority, if not all, of them have hosts already?
Slashy (2:01 AM): yet
Slashy (2:12 AM): they can't make more, yet, is what I was trying to stay before my internet decided to hate me
Slashy (2:13 AM): they're technologically advanced, I'll bet they have genetic engineering. they could make a new queen. eventually.
Tessa-san (2:13 AM): Eventually
Slashy (2:14 AM): anyway, I think they might have new queen, but the larval Tok'ra aren't mature enough for blending when Madison needs one
Slashy (2:16 AM): that idea makes sense, tho, right?
Tessa-san (2:16 AM): yeah
Slashy (2:18 AM): so now I need to know why Madison is allowed to go to Atlantis with her parents during the colonization. since she has cancer.
Tessa-san (2:18 AM): because she has cancer and also is Rodney's niece so he can pull strings?
Slashy (2:19 AM): do they have cancer treatment stuff on Atlantis?
Tessa-san (2:19 AM): Why the hell not?
Slashy (2:20 AM): ...yeah, that wouldn't be the strangest thing to find on Atlantis
Slashy (2:23 AM): how old is Madison anyway? ~realizes she should KNOW this~
Tessa-san (2:24 AM): Haven't an idea, dear.
Slashy (2:24 AM): I'm trying to figure out how close in age she and Lenna will be after Lenna's random age jump
Slashy (2:24 AM): I can't work out which one would be older off the top of my head
Slashy (2:27 AM): ...Lenna moves to Atlantis before the Wraith are taken care of and the colonization effort starts. She shouldn't be allowed to live in the city, should she?
Slashy (2:29 AM): is handing her off to Teyla to raise with the Athosian children plausible? or would Daniel be opposed to that kind of thing?
Tessa-san (2:29 AM): ...I'm not sure.
Tessa-san (2:29 AM): I dunno, Daniel never seemed like the 'father' type to me.
Tessa-san (2:29 AM): Big brother, maybe, but not father.
Slashy (2:30 AM): obvs once the colony was established, she'd move to the city. or maybe after the age jump.
Slashy (2:30 AM): but Daniel is with Jack now, remember?
Slashy (2:30 AM): Jack is father material. that won't be awkward or weird or anything.
Tessa-san (2:31 AM): He'd probably approve on the basis that 'Teyla knows what she's doing, Lenna will be around children her own age and she'll learn important skills'
Tessa-san (2:31 AM): and maybe Daniel and Jack get her on weekends or whenever they get a minute of downtime.
Slashy (2:31 AM): they get downtime?
Tessa-san (2:31 AM): At some point, I think they have to.
Tessa-san (2:31 AM): I mean. it's Daniel.
Tessa-san (2:31 AM): He's going to get hurt/killed.
Slashy (2:32 AM): I vote for hurt rather than killed. Killed usually results in long absences of pretty.
Slashy (2:32 AM): ...wait.
Slashy (2:34 AM): ...I wonder if Teyla would object to having this random child thrown at her. And separating it from it's parents...
Tessa-san (2:36 AM): If Daniel explained the situation--and it will be Daniel, not Jack, because Daniel understands that 'tact' thing--as "We're not sure we'll be able to give her the time and attention she needs, and she'll need a strong, dependable woman as a role model, and we just don't want her to feel alone and neglected, I'm not projecting, what are you talking about" probably she wouldn't.
Slashy (2:37 AM): also, the City of Atlantis while there are still Wraith around.
Slashy (2:37 AM): Susan's Tardis will make this a non-problem, but not until a bit after the establishment of the colony
Tessa-san (2:37 AM): indeed
Slashy (2:38 AM): what I really need to do is work out how Atlantis the colony will work
Slashy (2:39 AM): how does it function, who does what, how do you become a colonist, do Atlantis marriages count on Earth?
Slashy (2:39 AM): that last one most importantly
Tessa-san (2:39 AM): Don't see why not. It's a colony of Earth.
Slashy (2:40 AM): half the marriages in Mass. don't count in Florida
Slashy (2:40 AM): just saying
Tessa-san (2:40 AM): Well, with the elimination of DADT, do you eliminate DOMA too?
Slashy (2:41 AM): they're separate bills
Slashy (2:41 AM): getting rid of DADT will be a lot easier than getting rid of DOMA
Slashy (2:42 AM): if I do there'll have to be months, or maybe even years between them
Slashy (2:42 AM): who's allowed to perform marriages that are legal on Atlantis? are offworld marriages (for example, "oh, crap, that was a marriage ritual?") legal?
Tessa-san (2:43 AM): On that planet.
Tessa-san (2:43 AM): I think that as long as there's a judge and an official marriage license
Slashy (2:43 AM): could Teyla preside of a marriage ceremony that would be legal on Atlantis and Earth? can you get dual citizenship with a colony?
Tessa-san (2:43 AM): Sure
Slashy (2:44 AM): ...where are the Athosians?
Slashy (2:44 AM): I don't know why I don't know this.
Slashy (2:45 AM): I remember the Athosians moving. a few times. but I can't remember where they ended up. grr.
Slashy (2:46 AM): Teyla would get dual citizen ship. Athosian. Lantean. But are the Athosians on a continent on the Lantean planet, or do they have their own planet again?
Slashy (2:47 AM): you'd think this would be easy to remember
Slashy (2:47 AM): but no
Slashy (2:48 AM): ...if you're a citizen of the Atlantis colony, do you need a visa?
Tessa-san (2:48 AM): I don't think they're on the Lantean planet.
Tessa-san (2:48 AM): ...Yes
Slashy (2:48 AM): what would it say?
Slashy (2:49 AM): until the Stargate programme is declassified, where could it possibly say they were from?
Tessa-san (2:49 AM): Some random island in the south pacific.
Slashy (2:50 AM): ...do we know who the gateverse president is at this point?
Slashy (2:53 AM): Hayes inauguration was 2004. so either it's the end of his second term, or we've got a new guy. yes?
Tessa-san (2:53 AM): yes
Slashy (2:54 AM): in Continuum it was still Hayes. according to the Wiki.
Slashy (2:54 AM): so I should go with that. he's on his way out.
Slashy (2:55 AM): so, he could declassify the programme as one of his last presidential acts.
Tessa-san (2:55 AM): yeah
Slashy (2:56 AM): so, Hayes declassifies the programme ... when? when would be a good time for that?
Tessa-san (2:58 AM): last week of his term
Tessa-san (2:58 AM): let the new guy get fucked over.
Slashy (2:58 AM): which is...? politics are so not my thing
Tessa-san (2:59 AM): january 14
Tessa-san (2:59 AM): ish
Slashy (3:00 AM): that gives me a basic endpoint for my timeline
Slashy (3:05 AM): so, same base, completely different storyline. when the Unit goes the Hotel Babylon for the Empty Hotel story
Slashy (3:05 AM): there's no chance that El is going to let Peter and Neal go to the bestest hotel in all of London without her, is there?
Tessa-san (3:05 AM): no way
Slashy (3:06 AM): didn't think so
Slashy (3:15 AM): So Morgan Le Faye took out Adria in much the same way Oma took out Anubis. if even ONE other ascended being were to help either of them... what do you suppose would happen?
Tessa-san (3:20 AM): Whoever was being helped would win?
Slashy (3:21 AM): would the loser be destroyed? if the winner was Oma or Morgan would the other Ancient descend her and her helper?
Tessa-san (3:21 AM): Probably
Slashy (3:25 AM): when Susan gets fobwatched...if she goes human she won't be able to use the Ancient knowledge thing anymore, and there's no guarantee that she'd get the gene. But could the chameleon circuit fobwatch her as Alteran instead?
Tessa-san (3:25 AM): sure
Moment: but she's clearly NOT as she regenerates into Morena Baccarin
